In the Boys 9-10 division, Gavin Amella of Pueblo, CO fired 2-under par (29) to earn the first qualifying spot. Three shots behind him and earning the second qualifying spot was Andre Dumonteil of Centennial, CO (31). All with scores of 33, three golfers played off for the alternate positions. Ty Andrews of Windsor, CO secured the 1st alternate spot with a birdie on the first play-off hole while Frank Lockwood of Englewood, CO birdied the second play-off hole to hold the 2nd alternate spot. The Girls 7-8 division finished with Taylor Wilson of Highlands Ranch, CO and Maddie Makino of Parker, CO tied at 41. Makino won on the 1st playoff hole to earn a spot in the IMG Academy Junior World Championship. Amalei Lagrimas finished third and in the 2nd alternate spot (46). For complete results, CLICK HERE.
The Girls 9-10 division was won by Caitlyn Chin of Greenwood Village, CO. Chin shot 33 to earn her qualifying spot by 4 strokes. Ashleigh Wilson of Highlands Ranch, CO finished as the 1st alternate with a score of 37. Livia Pett of Denver, CO and Emmalee Johnson of Denver, CO faced off in a playoff at 40 for the 2nd alternate spot. Pett came out on top. For complete results, CLICK HERE.
Hadley Ashton of Erie, CO will also be representing Colorado at the national tournament. She earned an exemption by her top-finish in the 2016 IMG Academy Junior World Championship. Ashton will compete in the Girls 9-10 division.
The IMG Academy Junior World Championship is held in San Diego, CA on July 11-14.
